I'm Home and It's Glorious

Kelly snagged me from the Muskegon County Airport yesterday morning (my dad was exceptionally busy waiting for his new refrigerator to arrive) and hauled the both of us to Joe Chan's Bistro to consume lunch with Aunt Patti, Bryan and my dad which I then chased with a twenty-minute nap in my dad's guest bedroom before picking up Ella and Harrison up from school and cuddling them through the first thirty minutes of Beauty and the Beast, watching them eat a meal and kissing them goodnight after which I hustled to the Chili's in Norton Shores to meet my eighth-grade girlfriend Megan for dinner, drinks and buzzed shopping at Meijer and Walmart prior to traveling slightly above the posted speed limit to Pere Marquette Park Beach for the purpose of catching a 9:10pm Lake Michigan sunset (#5) with my dad before closing out an exhausting but incredible day with red wine and several rounds of Monopoly Deal at Balcom's Cove with Bryan and Jess.

A few photos are below.

Also, I'm tired.

I Did Five Things Today

After the goings-on of last night I truly believed that my body wouldn't allow me to do more than zero things today, but I shocked myself and my loved ones by doing five whole things today because apparently I am a hero.

Below is a list of the aforementioned five things that I did as well as photos of some of said things which were snapped with my white iPhone 8.

  1. Ran four miles (the outside during winter in Michigan is not great)
  2. Saw Pitch Perfect 3 in a completely empty auditorium at the Harbor Cinema with B, Sid and Lauren (if I had to venture a guess I don't think it will win a Best Picture Academy Award at the next Academy Awards)
  3. Took a nap (because of last night)
  4. Ate dinner at Chris and Kelly's and also watched the second half of The Santa Clause and helped get the kids to bed (well okay, "helped")
  5. Went Christmas caroling with my soon-to-be sister-in-law Jessica's awesome relatives (they are awesome)

Okay I'm exhausted good night.

Plus Two Queens

My hometown got a couple of queens richer a few moments ago when my dad and I snatched Bevan and Sid up from the Muskegon County Airport.

Sid had to go to school this week which is why they arrived a few days after I did and their unfortunate travel itinerary actually had the both of them spending last night at O'Hare. After a pit stop to hug and kiss Ella and Harrison I'm willing to bet that this duo will sleep the rest of today away but that's fine with me cuz it feels glorious to have my peeps in Muskegon.

Our Last Day in Michigan

On Saturday night I wrote that I'd maybe post pictures from our last day in Michigan during the flight back to SF but then airport rosé happened so I'm posting said pictures and some bonus commentary a couple days belated.

Our last day in Michigan began with the baptism of my goddaughter Ella in the church that I grew up in by a deacon who's the father of an old friend

and then we took a ride through my old neighborhood, chatted with some of our once-neighbors and posed for a pic in front of my childhood home

and afterwards a bunch of us went out on the boat and swam in Bear Lake

before heading to my sister and brother-in-law's house to celebrate Ella's first birthday with a bash that I've got a handful of totally rando pics from.

It wasn't long after we touched down at SFO that Sid asked if we could spend Christmas in Michigan. Needless to say, our trip was a good one.
