This evening Bevan and I made stuffed peppers for dinner and my Grandma Beckman’s special-occasion Cool Whip and sliced fruit dish for dessert while carrying on with one another about big things and small things and nothings as Buddy and Ellie snoozed on the furniture in the living room and the soundtrack from A Star is Born played just above a whisper around us.
I pet Bubbie. He is a 14 year old Pointer mix. He is calm and gentle. He will not eat unless his caregivers eat. Sometimes they have to pretend. When Bubbie’s caregiver was deployed for the military, Bubbie missed him. Bubbie saw someone in uniform at a gas station and whimpered. pic.twitter.com/Lo79Rf3fKx— I've Pet That Dog (@IvePetThatDog) January 15, 2019
Because my body’s playing host to a virus of some variety I spent the bulk of this day in my life slurping prescription cough syrup on the couch whilst watching pit bull puppy videos on YouTube with Ellie (my pit bull puppy).
We're meeting Matthew at Oola for a bottomless mimosa brunch in a tick but until then it's Sunday vibes in our bed with the paper and the pups.
Buddy Boopers isn't pictured but he's nestled somewhere up in that mess.
It's 8:30 on a Saturday night and I'm watching Gilmore Girls on the couch with Bevan and the dogs and B just made fun of me for trying to sneak off to bed and maybe my 2018 Resolution should have been Sleep the Most.
