The less-than-stellar parts of the week were still weighing me down when I got home from work tonight so I asked B if he wouldn't mind driving me to Ocean Beach for the sunset. We crossed the Great Highway at precisely the same moment that the sun decided to step out for the night resulting in a horizon line that looked a lot like a bowl of melted Superman ice cream.
There was a good breeze off the Pacific, the air was thick with the smell of bonfire, dogs were chasing tennis balls, laughter was coming from people draped in blankets and I finally felt my shoulders loosen a little. The whole big awesome scene reminded me of a quote by Rabindranath Tagore.
"Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky."
