2016 Goals Update #4

The month of May is almost three entire days old now which means that another 2016 Goals Update is in order.

  • BUY ONE $1 SCRATCH-OFF LOTTERY TICKET PER DAY AND RECORD THE RESULTS

    • In keeping with the tradition that began in January and then continued through February and March, I lost money playing the lottery in April, specifically $24 out of a possible $30 (American). I'm now down $65 on the year so far. Maybe next month I'll figure out how graphs work so that I can highlight just how bad my luck is in bars or pies or whatever.

  • RUN A HALF MARATHON

  • SPEND AT LEAST One Hundred HOURS VOLUNTEERING

    • 33.5/100.

  • SOCK AWAY [REDACTED AMOUNT OF MONEY]

    • In spite of my mounting lottery losses I'm actually kinda crushing this goal. I'll mark it at 1/3 complete even though I'm doing slightly better than that. #knockonwood

  • WRITE A CHILDREN'S BOOK

    • Instead of making progress towards finishing the children's book that's been rattling around in my mind grapes for several years now I've chosen to re-watch every episode of The Newsroom for the third time in eighteen months. I can tell that this goal's gonna end well.

The picture at the top of this post is of my dad and I. It was taken in front of a step and repeat banner in the ballroom of the fancy Union Square hotel that hosted the Equality Awards on April 2nd. Bevan was given some hardware alongside George Takei from Star Trek and Nancy Pelosi from politics.
