Science with Sidney

The following is part of an actual conversation that took place between Bevan, Sid and I while the three of us were lounging around the house on Sunday afternoon.

Sidney: Did you know that every day five hundred people fart?

Me: That sounds inaccurate.

Sidney: Why? Is it more or less?

Me: More.

Sidney: Oh, I meant a thousand.

Me: Where do you get your information?

Sidney: A library book.

Bevan (from the kitchen): There are 1.6 trillion human farts every day, many of which result in accidents. I just looked it up.

Sidney: What does he mean by accidents?

Me: Probably people who fart while rollerblading.

Sidney: Oh.
