Today began with a hardcover copy of My Truck Is Stuck! to the face courtesy of my nephew Harrison and ended over drinks at Lakeshore Tavern with three of my favorite far-flung cousins. In the hours between I watched Jim Carrey in How the Grinch Stole Christmas twice, jumped around the living room for fifteen minutes to "Shut Up and Dance", hiked the trails behind the Blockhouse with my dad, drove past my sister's new house, watched three episodes of The Office on Netflix while sharing a tray of oven-baked nachos, celebrated Chad's thirty-sixth birthday with crab legs, shrimp and steak at a table lit by candles, read Rosie Revere, Engineer aloud on the sofa, made Chex Mix (sorta) and played Thirty-One with Ashley, Blake, Bry, Chad and Devin at the dining room table.

It's good to be home.
