The Rooftop Ravens had practice after work this evening so Amanda, a bestie of mine who'd flown in from Chicago for a visit earlier this afternoon, had to meet me at Christopher Playground. She waited patiently for the soccer to be done and then she and B and I sped to Kama in Noe Valley for happy hour sushi before catching Janet Jackson in concert at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, which was, in a word, dope. Although I'm not entirely certain that Janet was actually singing all of her songs tonight, the stage was eye-popping and her outfit was fierce and the backup dancers were my absolute favorite part of the whole damn thing. Also, our seats were in the center of the eighth row so I'm pretty sure that my ears don't work anymore. Now we're watching Modern Family but my throat still hurts from over-doing London so I think I'm gonna quietly slip out and hit the hay.
