On Edwin McCain

As an overly emotional middle schooler, I spent a lot of time alone in my bedroom having feelings while Edwin McCain's Misguided Roses, the mildly successful alt rock album that boasted the wildly successful wedding hit "I'll Be," spun on repeat in the background.

On my way to a small acoustic performance by Mr. McCain last night, I messaged the childhood friend who first played me Misguided Roses to let him know where I was headed. Based on his response, it's safe to assume that he, too, had a lot of feelings in middle school.
