Dumped

We were loitering around the table in my little brother's kitchen this morning, my relatives and I, when my Aunt Debbie's curiosity sparked a lesson in language.

Aunt Debbie: "Where's Bryan?"

Me: "I think he's upstairs droppin' a 'D'."

Aunt Debbie: "Oh. Right."

A pause.

Aunt Debbie (whispering to my Mom): "What's a 'D'?"

Mom: "A dump."

Aunt Debbie: "Huh?"

Mom: "A deuce."

Aunt Debbie: "What?"

Mom: "A dookie."

Aunt Debbie shakes her head.

Mom: "He's going poop."

Aunt Debbie (nodding): "Oh. Right."
